Joseph has studied and performed piano from the age of 10, performing in music festivals and competitions. He holds a degree in piano performance from Dalhousie University and has performed many solo piano pieces in numerous musical genres during and after his studies.

The solo piano works of romantic composers such as Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninoff hold a special place in his musical soul. He has performed all 4 Chopin Ballades, several of Liszt's Transcendental and Concert Etudes, Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto, Haydn's "7 Last Words of Christ" and more. In November 2023 he premiered his first contemporary piano solo piece by composer James Rolfe. He also enjoys and has performed jazz, popular music, modern music, and other genres.
